Drug Store Dish

Hello friends. I know my posts are few and far between these days. It's been a busy fall! I cannot believe that it is almost October. My mall visits have been limited lately, but I had to find time to make it to the grocery store. A girl's gotta eat! A girl's also gotta stop in the beauty aisles at the grocery store, whether her husband likes it or not:)

Here are some items that I have welcomed into my product collection. Of course, I test way more products that I would like to admit. The three below rose to the occasion.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Bordeaux- $5.00- I'm a big fan of Rimmel lipsticks. Unlike other long-wear lipsticks, they don't make your lips feel dry. I love the Coffee Shimmer shade for my everyday look. After reading Sephora's review on the dark lip trend, I tried on their recommendations and didn't find anything that looked good. Luckily I found Rimmel's Bordeaux shade for only $5.00. I'm glad I ditched Sephora for a frugalicious find because I love the deep red shade. I wanted the matte look that was in without it being too dramatic, and the bordeaux lipstick is not too shiny or harsh. This is now my staple weekend shade for fun nights out.

Nivea A Kiss of Flavor Tinted Lip Care- $2.50- I get giddy when I find a new item that is less than $5.00. You can imagine how thrilled I was to find the new Nivea lip care for under $3.00! I went out to dinner with friends and brought an assortment for us to try. The non tinted version isn't as fun so I'm not focusing on that one. My cherry flavor smelled great, but the shade was a bit too pink. The big winner was the passion fruit shade. It gives a great tint that will stay on your lips while it moisturizes. It's perfect for occasions where you need great lip therapy but you want a pop of color.

Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Moisturizer- $17.99- I'm picky about my moisturizer. It's hard to find moisturizers that aren't too greasy or uncomfortable on my skin. I went over my typical drugstore budget and decided to splurge on the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer. I've been noticing some wrinkles around my eyes and I needed help. After a couple of weeks of use, my skin feels much smoother. My wrinkles are still there, but I feel like this is a great prevention tool. The little lines seem smaller, though it could be my imagination. Either way, I think the $17.99 was worth it for peace of mind.

The Nivea lip balm is definitely amazing! One of my favorites.
